Questo stranissimo ballo che faccio con te

It's a Pink Martini kind of day.  Currently listening to their song "Tuca Tuca" (which is one of my faves).  Anyways, like I promised, today we're going to check out Venice (or Venizia as the Italians call the city).

Venice has been on my bucket list for sometime and i'm REALLY excited that we're visiting the city.  I'm kinda hoping we have time to go on a Casanova night tour or something (I know...sounds very tourist-y, but Casanova interests me).  If we can't do that...we're definitely going on a gondola ride...and I don't care how much we have to pay (okay, I sound like a spoiled, only child there).

Now...Venezia!

Grand Canal

Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari

Palazzo Ducale
(courtyard)

Scuola Grande Di San Rocco

Basilica di San Marcos

San Giorgio Maggiore

Torre dell'Orologio

Santo Giovanni e Paolo

Santa Maria della Salute

Ca' Rezzonico

Santa Maria dei Miracoli

Il Redentore

San Zaccaria

Ponte Di Rialto

And I'll think i'll stop there for now.  Wow...lots of churches!

I've kind of noticed through all the times that I've gone to Italy that they have MANY churches.  But they're just GORGEOUS and the paintings and statues inside are just breathtaking.

I can't wait to be in Venice already!  I have less than a week left!!!

I think for tomorrow, we'll take a sneak peak of Bratislava.

A Domani! (Until tomorrow!)

The Hills are Alive With the Sound of Music...

Now on to Salzburg!

(I sincerely apologize for the song titles.  I'm really trying to base the titles of each blog post on a song...and the only one I can think of for Salzburg is this one)

Places/Things I want to see in Salzburg:

Salzburger Dom

Stift St. Peter

Festung Hohensalzburg

Getreidegasse Lane

Mozart Square

Fursterzbischoflische Residenz

Hellbrunn Castle

Schloss Mirabell and Gardens

Judging from these pictures...Salzburg is absolutely gorgeous!

I'm an absolute novice (not really) when it comes to architecture (I really don't know ANYTHING at all).  I'm the kind of person that looks at something and if it's gorgeous...it's GORGEOUS!  And I really love castles and palaces...it's the Disney Princess in me.

Well, that is it for Salzburg.  Tomorrow...i'll be scouting out Venice!  And that one will be a doozy because I absolutely ADORE Italy.  It's literally my favorite country to visit.  It's the reason I took up Italian in college to fulfill my language requirement for my degree.

Tomorrow's post may be a little longer than normal...but YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT!  (A little Legend of Korra in there...yes...I like Legend of Korra...)

Edelweiss, Edelweiss, Every Morning you Greet me

Yay!  I'm updating again, just like I promised yesterday.  For the next couple of posts, i'll be dedicating each one to each place that I will be visiting this summer.  Today's post is dedicated to Vienna, Austria.

So, a little bit of insight on how this trip came about.  In October 2009, my mom and a bunch of her old nursing school classmates went to Las Vegas for a little mini reunion.  One her classmates currently lives in Vienna and invited us to visit them.  The invitation has been in the back of my mom's mind and she always thought it would a great 25th Wedding Anniversary trip.  So, almost 3 years later, she planned a trip to Vienna for her 25th Wedding Anniversary(as you can tell...my dad really had no say in the matter)...I just decided to tag along as their unofficial chaperon (you know...to make sure there won't be a little sibling in the future to usurp me...I KID KID!!!)

Anyways, now on to the topic of this post.  While in Vienna, I would LOVE to see these places:

Schonbrunn Palace

Hofburg Palace

Belvedere Palace

St. Stephen's Cathedral

St. Charle's Church

Freud Museum

Kunsthistorisches museum (Art Museum)

Austrian National Library

My inner nerd is TOTALLY loving the national library.  Isn't it cool looking!?  It sort of reminds of the library in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" but less brighter (but just as GORGEOUS!).

See my blog tomorrow for Salzburg!

I'm leaving on a Jet Plane...

HI AGAIN!!!

I know it's been forever and a day, again, since I've posted on my blog!  I PROMISE i'll be a more diligent blogger in the futre.

So, what's been new with me?  Well, I just recently got accepted to Grad School (which I'm really excited about).  Been accepted gives me a little more hope for my future and that I wasn't a total failure as an undergrad.  I've only applied to to two schools and I only heard back from one.  I already talked to one of the advisors from the school I am accepted in, but I'm still holding out for the other school.

As you can tell from this title of this blog, I'm not here to talk about my Education, but TRAVEL!

I'm heading out on vacation in a week and a half...and i'm UBER excited!!!!!  We'll be visiting places that I have never seen before but have always planned on seeing.  ACK!!!  This is going to be the longest week and half...EVER!

Anyways, the reason for the trip is that my parents are going to be having their 25th Wedding Anniversary.  WOOHOO!!!  I kinda decided to tag along on this trip as their chaperone ;-)

Well, as a means to make sure I update my blog, i'm going to make a blog post on every place that we'll be going to.

Here is a map of the places (or so i've been told) we'll be visiting.  Our "home" base will be Vienna.  We are staying with my mom's classmate.  My aunt will also be joining us on the trip, since she also likes to travel just as much as me and my mom.

This is it for now, come back tomorrow and i'll post about Vienna and the places that I would LOVE to see there.

Until tomorrow (hopefully)
